Inside us there is a river born in the good cold
That longs to give to the Gulf of light.
And there is another river more like the Missouri
that carries earth, and earth joys, and the earthly.
Dentro de nós há um rio nascido da melhor frescura
que procura desaguar no Golfo da luz.
E há outro rio, mais como o Missouri,
que leva terra, os prazeres da terra, e o que é terreno.
